The Montgomery County Choral Society has a tradition of providing a scholarship to a High School Senior who will be attending college in pursuit of a degree in a music-related field such as vocal performance, choral studies, instrumental music, or music therapy.
Our scholarship chairman, John Charlesworth, has been busy preparing this year’s application to be distributed to High School counselors and music directors in the several school districts in Montgomery county. Scholarships are awarded during our final concert in the Spring.
The newly-named Ann Lee Scholarship is a merit-based scholarship awarded to an outstanding student selected from these applications by our scholarship committee.
Last season, we received seed-monies which enabled us to establish The Perseverance Through Music Scholarship Fund. From this fund, we were able to award scholarships to two outstanding students who had “persevered” in spite of challenging circumstances.
This is where you, our wonderful audience, our groupies, our families and friends, come in! Our goal is to expand the number of scholarships we can award, which is dependent on your donations.
If you would like to donate to our scholarship fund, in memory of someone, in honor of someone, or just because you want to encourage the next generation of music educators, please consider a contribution.
Below you are able to make your donation to the MCCS Scholarship Fund. There will be a list of donors and their designees in the program for the season finale concert in the Spring.
And if you are aware of potential applicants in the area, please encourage them to apply!
