Join in the Harmony - Support Our GIving Tuesday Fundraiser
Dear Friends,
In Sir John Rutter’s words, “You express, when you sing, your soul in song. And when you get together with a group of other singers, it becomes more than the sum of the parts. All of those people are pouring out their hearts and souls in perfect harmony, which is kind of an emblem for what we need in this world, when so much of the world is at odds with itself… to express, in symbolic terms, what it’s like when human beings are in harmony. That’s a lesson for our times and for all time. I profoundly believe that.”
What does it take to be a successful community chorus like the Montgomery County Choral Society?
- Singers – Come join us for a wonderful experience of making music together to share with others. All are welcome… “Use what talents you possess; the woods would be very silent if no birds sang except those who sang best.” – Henry van Dyke
- Music – Thanks to wonderful composers who offer up music of many genres for choirs to perform. Using their compositions has a cost, and ASCAP royalties are paid for the music we perform at each concert.
- Conductors and Accompanists – Music Education is critical in developing those we choose to lead us and those who perform with us.
- Rehearsal and Performance spaces – Music Ensembles like ours require a large space, seating for choirs and audiences, air-conditioning, insurance, and security. In other words, RENT.
- Audio-visual needs – AV Techs, graphic artists, sound & recording equipment
- Promotional materials – graphic artist services, printing, website hosting, payment-services fees
- A COMMUNITY – Without you, our audience, we have no way to fulfill our mission “to unite singers who celebrate their love of music and share the joy of music through professional quality performances and community outreach.”
Can we count on your support of our GIving Tuesday Fundraiser this year, $50? $100? $200? … whatever you can spare for us to reach our goal of $10,000 to ensure that we are able to put forth a quality entertainment product in the coming year for the Greater Montgomery County area.
