Craig Stephan - Accompanist

Craig Stephan is excited to be an official part of the Choral Society.  Born and raised in Conroe, he knows well their history of great music and excellent performances and is delighted to have this opportunity to perform on their concerts.  Craig is currently the Associate Director  of Music and organist at First United Methodist Church in Conroe and, since returning to Texas, also works as a coach/accompanist for vocal students at Sam Houston State University.  Away from Texas for 15 years, Stephan spent a few years in Kentucky as Southeast Regional Director of La Bella Donna and prior to that nearly 14 years in New York working in advertising, public relations and marketing. Craig also has a very strong church music background.  He began playing for worship services as a sixth grader and has since served in various music ministry positions in Texas, New York and Kentucky, enjoying ever-broadening experiences in various denominations and worship styles.  A graduate of Baylor University, he first put his music degree to practice as a high school choral conductor, but a secondary career in performance led him to leave education and focus solely on performance opportunities.
