Ann Lee - Artistic Director
Ann Lee is in her 28th year as Artistic Director of the Montgomery County Choral Society, accompanying the group two years prior to that. She is a graduate of Sam Houston State University, with further graduate studies at SHSU and the Eastman School of Music, where also studied privately with Donald Neuen and Alfred Mann. She received her Director of Music Certification in the Methodist Church from Perkins School of Theology at SMU. She was a choral director at Conroe High School for eight years, during which time her choirs received superior ratings. Maintaining a private studio for fifteen years, Lee taught piano, voice, horn, and trumpet to students who received superior ratings at Solo and Ensemble competitions and were named to the Texas Music Educators Association All-State Organizations. Currently Lee is in her 23rd year as Director of Music at First United Methodist Church in Conroe, Texas, where she was the organist for 8 years prior to that. She has invested her time in the community, serving as music director/conductor for the musicals at the Crighton Community Playhouse for 10 years, as well as actively serving on the Young Texas Artist Committee for the Montgomery County Performing Arts Society. She is a member of Texas Music Educators Association, the American Choral Directors Association, Music Educators National Conference, Alpha Lambda Delta, Alpha Chi, Sigma Alpha Iota, and pi Kappa Lambda.
